“Southern Nevada” was painted for Community One Credit Card. The client wanted a montage illustration to depict Nevada highlights without the primary focus being on Vegas and Gaming. The original assignment was initially for just a strip across the top but the client was so pleased with the illustration they decided to have it cover the entire card. It was unusual at the time and the composition had to be designed around the Credit Card copy so the copy wasn’t too obscured and key details of the painting weren’t overprinted or distorted by embossing.
