“Beelzebeth” is an illustration for an e-book cover. The client already had the background, Title and Copy Blurb but wanted the main character created and dropped in place. Obviously the style had to match the photo-realistic background and the lighting needed to conform to existing parameters in order to maintain consistency. The face and reflection started out with a lot more detail and then were progressively darkened to enhance the sinister mood. This meant obscuring and actually losing a lot of the detail work that had been painstakingly created. The face and reflection were painted in Photoshop then layered into the PSD file at 360 dpi.
